Flippity is a Google Sheet add-on that will allow you to take your Google spreadsheet and turn it into games and other neat activities for your students!
If you click on the picture above, it will take you to Flippity's website. Then, browse the neat activities they have and preview it. All you have to do is copy the template or use the Flippity Add-on. My favorite is Flippity Flashcards - I love the matching portion of it and the ability to print a quiz. So many options for engagement and learning! Best of all - it's EASY!

Y'all I learned about Toby yesterday. And. I. Love. It.
It's like Tab Cloud on steroids. I finally feel organized and don't worry about accidently closing tabs! It keeps track of which windows or tabs you have open and you can save your session. You can have Toby open certain tabs every day. If you're presenting on a topic and know you're going to need certain tabs, save them in Toby and you can open them anywhere as long as you're signed into Chrome. It's super easy. I've added the extension to my Chrome and I've already used it a TON! For students, they could use Toby to open certain tabs for certain classes. They can organize tabs into lists for projects, etc. Go check it out! elink. If you're not using it, stop what you're doing and take a look at it. It's advertised as an "All-In-One Content Curation Tool" that you can design email newsletters, web pages, or embedded content on websites that can be updated in real-time. What I like using elink for is quick student guides for projects. Start by creating an account and when you get to your dashboard, select "create new". From there, you select which layout that you'd like your finished product to look like. Then, you add your links. Choose any links you wish to be shown on your "website" and then watch on the right screen as they appear with a picture. Don't like the picture it's pulled in? Upload your own. Enter a title and edit the description if you don't like the one that generates. Then, when you get all of your websites put into your elink, click "Header" and select which header you would like to use - one with a background or one with no background. After that, you click next until you get to the "create my elink" button. All of your elinks will show in your dashboard in alphabetical order. Each elink has a short code so that it's easy to give to your students. Take a look at some of the elinks I've made for student projects to show presentation tools. Copy your elink and share it via Google Classroom, Moodle, Edmodo, etc. Great way to stay organized and present information to students. Make one today!
Inkle is a fun storytelling tool that your students can use in class. Best part? It's FREE, digital, AND collaborative. Students get tired of using Word or Google Docs to type a paper! With Inkle, students can write an interactive story, choose images to add, and have their readers get to make decisions about what happens next in the story! The writer gives the reader small parts of the story. Then, the reader gets to pick what they would like to happen. This could be anything from how a character reacts to something, what the character will say next, how the character feels, etc. The story has the possibility of taking many many turns! Inkle also includes a graphic organizer that updates as the students write so that students can easily see a map of their overall story. Teachers can also assign an Inkle story to a group or a class and each student can write a different part of the story. Super engaging and fun! Try it out! |
